Barano è dotata della spiaggia più grande circa due km e più famosa dell'isola d'Ischia, famosa anche per i ruscelli di acqua termale che scendono fin sulla sabbia e dalle fumarole che innalzano i loro vapori dalla sabbia infuocata. Molto note per le proprietà minerali delle acque sono le sorgenti di Nitrodi e di Olmitello, le loro virtù terapeutiche hanno fama mondiale.
